Traditional dances and music of various tribes in Zambia and neighboring countries were performed. I, along with two other Japanese students, sang an anime song as part of Japanese contemporary culture. Japanese anime is very popular in Zambia, and the audience was very excited. We were also able to wear Yukata on this day with the support of the Japanese Embassy and Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka. Zambian students were very interested in traditional Japanese costumes and often asked us to take pictures with them.
